I personally stood to gain approximately $20,000 in capital gains when the additional capital gains tax was brought in, so obviously I wasn't affected. I thought it was a great idea. If you have over $250,000 in capital gains, you are obviously quite wealthy and could certainly afford to pay the additional tax. The doom and gloom that followed it's introduction was both amazing and horrifying. This is one of the things that I am not happy with Prime Minister Carney doing, Others include getting rid of the Digital Services Tax, not only because I believe that if you do business somewhere you should pay taxes there as well (although that might have implications across provinces). the MOU with Alberta and NOT disallowing Alberta's anti-constitutional laws, which I realize would lead to whining from them about how they are being repressed.

I also thing the the right wing anti-government institutes such as the Frasier Institute and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (who do NOT represent me) can go hang, the bunch of wankers.

Every time they list the top earning companies in the US and their taxes (not) paid, I want to puke!
