I don't want an especially strong military, but I am not so idealistic as to believe that in spite of my preference that we don't need one. Canada is facing a multi-front existential threat from both the United States and Russia and cannot depend on our aggressor to also be our defender. We also need our military to be well equipped and well trained for less obvious tasks such as maritime surveillance, search and rescue, and emergency management.
