While we may have first bumped into each other in the context of Free/Libre and Open Source Software, I am really here for the discussions of governance. I worry that so few think about the obvious but "unintended" consequences of policies they try to stick into silos, such as those who have such strong emotions about electoral reform without putting that in the required context of reform of Democratic Institutions.
I'm a fan of the procedural nerding out, as that is context that so few seem to be aware of.
Following you on this site, I have become convinced that political Parties are a burden on our democracy. You have shown me how upside down so much of that has become.Your thinking is so far ahead of the curve that you have become my goto for understanding the world of politics, and for issues like proportional representation and for so many of the manipulated messages that we hear.
I really appreciate your perspectives and the way you examine the underlying bases of policy decisions and public actions, and show the unintended consequences. Keep digging around and exposing these things.
