It's time for the government to issue a travel advisory warning Canadians to avoid the United States for their own safety, not only as a means of economic protest.
So how do we get the government to stop pretending that "making a deal" will protect our economy? Protecting our people should come higher on the to-do list. Our economy will take a lot of hits and will have to change no matter the outcome of so-called negotiations. It is time to seize the bull by the horn and each of us do our part to build the Canada we want, and to protect ourselves from the possibility of following in the footsteps of the US in the not-too-distant future. We must lay out a plan for a more equitable country, tax the super-rich, call ourselves citizens instead of taxpayers, build community IRL, talk to each other face to face and make our politicians respond to our real needs rather than feeding the rage machines across the country.
